Using a crock-pot to prepare homemade chicken soup is one of the easiest things to make. Using slow cookers takes all the guesswork out of creating delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. Not only is it easy, it also does not take up a lot of time. A crock-pot is the ultimate set it and forget it appliance. Most often, all you need to do is load it up with all of the ingredients and set the timer.

Preparing homemade chicken soup is really simple when it involves using a crock-pot. The first thing you need to do is gather the ingredients. What you will need first is the chicken. You can use any chicken, but it is better to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Next, you will need some vegetables. These can be celery, carrots, onions and anything else you desire. Lastly, you will need some chicken bouillon cubes and any herbs or spices that you want.

Now that you have all of the ingredients, you can get the soup started. First, add the chicken to the bottom of the crock-pot. Then add the vegetables, the herbs and spices and the chicken bouillon cubes. Fill up half the crock-pot with water. Put the lid on and set the pot to low or medium and cook for 8 hours. When it is done, use tongs to remove the chicken and cut it into bite size pieces. Put the chicken back into the pot and stir. If you want a thicker soup, you can add cooked rice or noodles to it. Keep warm and enjoy!
